Part 1 - Assassination

The acolytes are awakened by the sound of the ships alarms blaring and the shaking of the ship as multiple explosions seem to be rocking the hull.

The acolytes grabbed whatever equipment and weapons was immediately to hand...

Note - I handed the players a piece of paper each and asked them to write down what equipment they grabbed as they awakened...I gave them 20 seconds ;-)...One of them cheated...

There's a series of deafening explosions at the entrance to each acolytes suite of rooms, smoke and debris fills the room...several figures burst through the ragged hole. They are dressed in a random assortment of armour plates over a mixture of Flak, Mesh and other less identifiable variants of armour though some acolytes are confronted by opponents that have far superior equipment...It was evident that each Acolyte from Crows primary team had been targeted by carefully selected assassins...

Varn faced a highly trained death cult assassin and several of his trainee's, Lyra's opponents were Gunslingers from the clan she had thought she'd eradicated, Atellus's enemies had been equipped with a device that neutralised psychic powers, Kallos was countered by a sniper team and Mann was with the rest of the Stormtroopers in the barracks which suffered a major assault by highly trained enemy enforcers. Xanthis was considered only a minimal threat and so was allocated only a single enemy enforcer.
The team were far more resourceful than their would be assassins had expected and despatched their opponents with minimal effort though the Death Cultist facing Varn caused him considerable trouble. Xanthis managed to take out his lone opponent with a lucky shot from underneath the bed...The rest of Crows acolytes were far less lucky, leaving the prime team the sole survivors after the rest of the deck was cleared.

Upon searching his opponents corpses Kallos discovered a list of names of acolytes with what was presumably a bounty listed next to each and a dataslate containing tactical information on both himself and the others...presumably the other assassins were similarly prepared...

Note - Kallos's player was absent that day so he was under GM control.

Five Stormtroopers escorted Mann to the crew quarters to rendezvous with the surviving acolytes while the rest of the troops attempted to fight back the invaders.

After wiping out a secondary attack from a horde of cultists a boarding torpedo and a docked gun-cutter were discovered though the torpedo was unusable and the gun-cutter's main controls had been secured by some strange arcane device.

The Vox network is filled with distress calls from multiple areas. The main bridge is sealed but being attacked, groups of boarders are attempting to disable the main weapon arrays, some minor locations are being attacked. The focus of the attacks seem to be at locations where there are primary acolytes based. Engineering is under a major assault but for some reason none of the Murder servitors have been activated and are therefore not moving to intercept the boarders..which may pose somewhat of a problem...Lucien voxes to say that he's trying to activate the Murder Servitors but they seem to have been deactivated by the bridge so he's attempting to activate some manually. Apparently Crow had never trusted Lucien enough to allow him complete control of such a formidable weapon and those protocols were still in place...

After some consultation with Lucien it was discovered that the attack seems to be originating from a ship of Grand Cruiser size with at least two escort ships protecting it. The Corvus's managed to disable one of the escorts with the prow plasma array and cripple another with the starboard lances before losing weapon control...it's almost like it's been disabled from the bridge's control overrides. The Cruiser began to move towards the Corvus's port side because the enemy apparently has that area's weapon systems completely under their control. Additionally the engines are offline and without manoeuvrability the ship will need those port lances to have even a small chance of stopping the enemy vessel...
